Area Lights produce soft, natural, physically accurate shadows quickly and simply. Simply changing the size of an Area Light and its physical distance from the objects in the scene controls shadow softness. Combine this with the new Ambient Occlusion shader and you have a beautiful global illumination look without the global illumination render time.
